The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is without doubt one of the world’s best treks and for those who visit Peru looking for good adventure this is definitely the best choice. This ancient trail was laid by the Incas and is one of the many trails that used to connect different cities and temple of the Inca Empire.

The Royal Inca Trail leads from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu combining different ecosystems, microclimates and lot of history giving the visitors a really amazing experience.

People enjoy from the very start of this trek looking at how the spectacular scenery of the Andes Mountains merges into the cloudy forest to finally arrive to the magnificent complex of Machu Picchu lying on a green plateau where the architectural art is in perfect harmony with the natural environment.

Day 1: Cusco – Piscacucho – Huayllabamba. (- / A / C)

In the morning pick up from your hotel at the scheduled time and by private bus transfer to Km. 82. and prepare to enter the Inca Trail in the company of our guide excursion team, chefs, assistants and porters. At this point we register our entry with our passport and validation tickets, on the way to the trek we will meet the Miskay Community and meet the locals, then start climbing and see the beautiful Inca building known as “Patallacta” , located at 2750 meters above sea level. At this point we will stop and our local guide will provide us with information about this interesting Inca legacy. Then we will continue walking for two hours along the Cusichaca River, uphill until we reach a beautiful place where we will stop for lunch. After a short rest we will continue walking through an area of ​​vegetation, where you can appreciate the hummingbird native to this region, then arrive at our first camp, located in the Wayllabamba area, dinner and rest.

Day 2: Huayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayo. (D / A / C)

After breakfast on this second day of the Inca Trail, passengers will face the most difficult part of the walk, they must climb many stairs, so we recommend taking as much time as necessary to reach the Llulluchapampa sector, where we will make a quick stop just to rest and prepare to climb to the highest point of our walk, the famous Warmihuañuska pass, located at 4200 meters above sea level, where you will be rewarded with the most beautiful landscapes of the walk, once you reach the top of The mountain will be granted with a spectacular view of the Andean mountains, then we continue with the trek until we reach the second camp that will be in Pacaymayo 3600 masl. In this place as an official camp you will find bathrooms and showers. Dinner and accommodation

Day 3: Pacaymayo – Puyutamarca – Wiñaywayna. (D / A / C)

After breakfast, on this third day of the Inca Trail we will begin to walk one of the longest days of the excursion, but at the same time, one of the most beautiful due to the presence of wonderful Inca buildings, such as that of the ruins of Runkurakay , A beautiful oval Inca building that is believed to be like an Inca watchtower. After the pass, we will go down to a beautiful valley full of plants; Here we will visit the ruins of Sayacmarka, located 3624 meters above sea level. It is an interesting Inca construction, built on a steep slope. After visiting Sayacmarka, we will continue descending to the cloud forest, reaching the ruins of Puyupatamarka, composed of impressive fountains and water channels that are spectacular hydraulic engineering works carried out by the Incas. After which we will continue down until we reach one of the most beautiful Inca buildings of the place: the ruins of Wiñaywayna. These are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of all the ruins after Machu Picchu. Wiñaywayna means “always young” and it is said that he acquired that name due to the abundance of an orchid that bears the same name. After exploring every corner of Wiñaywayna we headed to our last camp. This will be the night when we will say goodbye to our goalkeepers and tour staff, so we will organize a small party to thank everyone for sharing this beautiful experience with the group.

Day 4: Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B / – / -)

At 04:00 hrs. After breakfast, we will quickly go to IntiPunku or Puertadel Sol, a magnificent point from which you can see the city of Machu Picchu. At this point we can relax for a few minutes, take pictures of the group, and finally go down to get to the one recognized as one of the wonders of the world: Machu Picchu.
Machu Picchu rises to a height of 2430 meters above sea level, it was undoubtedly one of the most incredible urban creation in Inca times. Its massive walls, terraces and ramps seem to be cut continuously on the rocky cliffs. Our guide will take you on a tour of the most impressive of this beautiful Inca city. This will take us around 3 hours, after which we have free time to explore each place on our own. Then return by bus to the city of Aguascalientes, for lunch and head to the station to board our train

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Train service provided is Expedition, in case clients prefer to take the Vistadome service there an extra charge of $40.00 per person.
  • Guide travels back to Cusco by Expedition service in with the entire group.
  • Notice that you won’t travel back accompanied and the transfer back from Poroy train station to Cusco is not included.
  • The transfer will cost US$ 25.00 per person.

  • If clients wish to stay an extra night the Hotel will be for clients own. We can help with your hotels reservation and any other service requested.
  • Entrance tickets to Machupicchu or Huayna Picchu won’t be included if clients stay an extra night. Request your second entrance fee to your travel agent also bus tickets must be required.
  • In case clients stay an extra night by their own, THE COMPANY will provide just train tickets for the next day, transfer and transportation won´t be included. You Can request in case you need it.
